Help, My Brain Feels Like a Fried Egg!
Help, My Brain Feels Like a Fried Egg
You know the kind of day where you feel like your to-do list is actively mocking you? That was me today. I woke up early, determined to tackle my work projects, but by noon, I’d already fielded five “urgent” emails, a surprise meeting, and a Slack message that could have been an email (seriously, why?).
By the time 5 p.m. rolled around, my brain felt like a fried egg, sizzling and useless. Mochi, my cat and full-time emotional support gremlin, perched on the couch, watching me with his judgmental “you should chill” face. He has a point.
Here’s the thing about burnout: it sneaks up on you. One day, you’re working hard, thinking, “I’ve got this!” and the next, you’re staring at your computer screen, unable to form a coherent thought. So, I decided to do some research on how to stop this cycle. I learned that rest is not optional. It’s fuel. And yet, I still feel guilty whenever I take a break, like I’m failing somehow.
So, tonight, I’m starting small. A face mask. Some tea. A list of TV shows that don’t require brainpower. It’s not a cure-all, but it’s a start.
